Catholic Scripture Cards

We are all compelled by the Holy Spirit to set an example as Christians, for some of us that includes evangelization and the use of apologetics. To prepare our children for what they will encounter as adults, including skewed translations of scripture, we can guide them to learn key scriptures in their entirety.

There are plenty of scripture cards online and in shops, but sometimes it's hard to tell if what you're memorizing is scripture as translated by the Catholic Church. A few I've found are great for little kids or women, but I needed something for my teens and older children to use for memory and copywork. I compiled these cards using the New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition Bible through BibleGateway.com. The theme is Gifts of the Holy Spirit, with verses about Love, Knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom, Counsel, Fortitude, Piety, Fear of the Lord, and the Church.
There are 72 cards to print at home onto cardstock and/or laminate. I've clipped and collected these in our Scripture Memory Box. I was excited to re-purpose this tin that was my grandmother's recipe box. I found the tabs to print free at SimplyCharlotteMason.com onto colored cardstock.

The cards are on sheets grouped as shown, 8 per gift/theme, for you to print and cut as you'd like. As you can see there are some short and some long verses, to appeal to a variety of ages.

which helps me continue providing these resources without ads all over my page.

I hope to offer you in the near future another selection, focused on scripture from The Mass, The Rosary, and Catholic Prayers.

  1. I've seen them at Michael's craft store. At Walmart if there isn't a recipe card holder, just go to the office section for an index card holder. Any small box will do.
